Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to fit a towbar?

Every vehicle is different, and we can confirm a fitting time when you book a vehicle in. We do recommend that you leave a vehicle with us for a full morning or afternoon.

Are you fully insured?

Yes, we have specialist insurance for moving vehicles as well as full public indemnity insurance.

Are there better/stronger towbars than others?

Since 1997, all cars have required an EC type approved towbar fitted. This has done away with home-made towbars. All towbars are made to the manufacturers’ specification and come with an approval label. Towbar wiring is now as important and is being introduced into the MOT check. Currently only 13 pin wiring is being tested. However the centre will check that a 7 pin socket is not in disrepair.

Do I have to come to your workshop?

Yes, Towbars (NI) is a NTTA Quality Secured Accredited Centre and therefore you must come to us to have the work carried out. A major advantage of this, over mobile fitters is that we will always be accessible if you need us.
